With two specialty folder gluers in our Conway facility, we are able to offer infold / outfold trays, lock-bottom cartons, and other specialty cartons to our customers.
This style of packaging allows for quicker setup than taped or stitched cartons. It also will speed up your packing line by eliminating the need to seal the bottom of the carton.
Presseal
Presseal is a closure method made possible by the pre-application of a pressure sensitivie cohesive. Since this cohesive adheres only to itself, the coated product may lie flat with out concern for sticking. Presseal can be used on outer cartons as well as inner packaging. Advantages of Presseal application include:
1. Eliminates gluing, taping, stitching, and sealing equipment. 2. Eliminates separate set-up, packing, and closing stations. 3. Eliminates changeover delays for multi-sized cartons. 4. Simplifies the packing of assorted products.
Waxed Cartons
SMC Packaging can produce cartons and inner-packaging that are curtain-coated with a paraffin based wax. Curtain coating can be used to protect product from fibre abrasion or used in an outdoor application for protection from the elements.
Glued-In Dividers
With the installation of our Ward Flexo-Folder-Gluer in Kansas City, we are now able to provide glued-in-dividers in the "in-line" process at high speed. This is a perfect application for high speed packing lines where time and multiple SKUs are a concern.
