In addition, the accuracy from sample creation to tooling to final production run has improved our ability to produce the highest quality product possible. If a design is already cut and modifications need to be made, a quick CAD change produces a revised sample within minutes. The table speed also allows us to provide multiple sample styles if needed to aid in choosing the best packaging solution.
Utilizing the power of the Internet, we can digitally send a design to our cutting die manufacturers. This ensures the accuracy of the tooling and reduces the cost of manufacturing the cutting die.
Connectivity
CAD workstations with Artios software are used by SMC Packaging Group designers at all locations. By connecting our designers, we can share a vast library containing stock designs as well as those custom created at each location.
All SMC Packaging Group locations are equipped with the automated Kongsberg cutting tables.
All of our table are linked through our wide area network. A sample can be created in one location and cut out in another to keep the project on schedule. This is a benefit in the event of downtime, if paper size or type is not available at a certain location, or for other reasons which may arise.
